The 2nd annual St. Louis Small Press Expo!!!!!!
This event will be one of the coolest literary events in the Universe and the organizers have extended the Black Unicorn Press an invitation to come up to St. Louis and participate.
A small Press Expo is like many other kinds of conventions, but the DIY ethic of small presses and self-publishers means that almost everyone in attendance probably plays a role in the creation, promotion, or support of writing and art. The people you meet are the people making awesome literary things happen and treat you like you are the valued community member that you are. In addition to my own chapbooks, books, and zines, The Black Unicorn Press will be traveling with some zines and chapbooks put together by other Conway folks. It will be a good opportunity to show old friends in St. Louis some of the cool things I have gotten myself into since moving to Arkansas and showcase some of the cool folks I have been artistically involved with since moving here.
Some of the other vendors that will be present that I am excited about getting to know/learn about are: Queer Young Cowboys, Sibling Rivalry Press, St. Louis Black Author’s Bookfair, Vag*** Zine, WomenArts Quarterly Journal, Work Press & Publication. The Expo will be happening in the absolutely stunning building of the St. Louis Central Library.

Nick Kuntz and Nicky Rainey are super friends to the BUP, great writers and all around great examples of human beings. They are founding organizers of the Small Press Expo and will both be present at the event as well and if you are reading this and will be attending be sure to check out their work.
